AJK College of Arts and Science Hosts Kitchen Carnival 2024 ‘Punjabi Food Fest’ At Navakkarai Coimbatore
In their Kitchen Carnival 2024, AJK College of Arts and Science Coimbatore (Autonomous) organised the much anticipated ‘Punjabi Food Treat’ Food Festival, providing an immersive immersion into the rich cuisines of Punjab. The event took place on May 12 at the AJK College Campus in Navakkarai. It started at 6:30 pm and included more than 100 delicious meals, including both traditional and regional specialties.

Prof. Dr. Ajeet Kumar Lal Mohan, who serves as Secretary of the AJK College of Arts and Science Coimbatore (Autonomous) and Vice Chancellor Convenor Committee Member at Bharathiar University and President of the Coimbatore District Football Association (CDFA), officially opened the festival. Mr. D. Charles Fabian, Director of Coimbatore Residency Towers, and Mr. Senthil Valavan, Director of Coimbatore Airport, were among the esteemed guests. Proficient chefs from the Radisson Blu Coimbatore and ITC Hotel contributed to the celebration.

Attendees enjoyed a wide selection of dishes, such as Potato Tandoori, Angara Chicken, and Punjabi Samosa, as well as an extensive variety of salads, pickles, lentil gravies, breads, hot Jalebis, kulfi and desserts, capturing the essence of Punjabi cuisine. A highlight of the festival was a vibrant costume parade, where students from AJK College’s Department of Fashion Design showcased traditional and modern Punjabi attire, captivating the audience.

The event provided a platform for students of the Department of Catering Science and Hotel Management to demonstrate their culinary prowess, encouraging their skills for future endeavours in the hospitality industry.

With more than 2000 attendees, including the public, children, and food enthusiasts, the Punjabi Food Festival at AJK College of Arts and Science was a resounding success, delighting taste buds and celebrating the rich culinary heritage of Punjab.
